So I just bought my first supercharger - a used CT (thanks S2K-F8 )

I ordered a Walbro 342 and a set of NGK 2668 from Horsepowerfreaks because they seemed to get good "press" here at S2ki.

I bought the walbro "install kit" - which "Also included is an inlet filter that meets or exceeds original equipment specifications and provides improved filtration and durability."

any thoughts on this filter?
good idea?
bad idea?
neither here nor there?

It's was cheap so I don't mind not using it, just wondering what the pro's here thought


and as for the plugs - gap them to .032"?

Definitely use the Walbro filter so nothing gets sucked into the pump. As for the gap on the 2668's, I believe they are pregapped at .030", just leave it there and you'll be fine. I have these plugs and am making 650 whp with them gapped at .030" or what they came gapped at with no problems on the stock coils.

 

i used the walbro fuel filter and it hits my fuel level sensor, so anything below 1/4 tank is still reading as 1/4 tank on the gauge. Buy the oem fuel filter or make sure the walbro does not hit the sensor.

 

I did a lot of research before I installed my Walbro 255 and it seemed like everyone agreed it was better to use the OEM filter sock. I just used my old one. The Walbro was much longer and seemed like it would cause issues with the fuel gauge levels because it hit the arm.

 

I used my "old" oem filter sock as well.

The OEM filter will be fine also. Just make sure you use a filter. Thats all I was trying to say.

 

Along with this, I would also suggest to double check the gap before you install them too just to make sure that they are all correct.
