Thumbs up walbro shat the bed..

i was getting my car tuned a few weeks ago, the pump was purging and not keeping a consistent pressure. its a walbro 255, has anyone else experienced any pump failure like this before? i put a new one in and im getting re-tuned on thursday. BTW it was a stock block 2.2l w/3mm, lovfab mini-me, garret gt3582r, rc 1000cc's, aem ems and we only went to 12psi.

thanks,

Not uncommon at all. Be careful buying these off ebay, most sold on there are not even manufactured by Walbro.

I'm not sure what the ebay knockoffs physically say on them but just make sure you read the fine print in the listings, they like to sneak the word style in.

As soon as you recieve the pump, check the markings on it to see if it is indeed authentic. For even more reassurance, see if any local speed shops have the Walbro in stock, then bring yours to compare with one of theirs.

Better yet, just buy it from a local speed shop and be done with it...
