Default wastegate and wastegate spring size

I currently have the IP kit and a turbosmart 38mm wastegate. Its the older turbosmart. I am curious as to if they have springs still available for this wastegate, preferably a 14psi. If not what size wastegate can I go up to with the IP log mani. I just don't want to have to worry about the boost controller and spikes. Thanks.

From what i have learned so far but its not confirmed just yet, you will need a spring rate that is at least half the amount of boost youre running or you could run into boost controller problems and boost not holding all the way to redline.

www.extremepsi.com sells them and they have a chart with what color spring = what psi/bar you want.

Are there any sites that still sell the springs for the older streetgate. The new model ultra-gate seems to be everywhere. I just don't want to upgrade to a new unit just to get a stronger spring.

On the IP manifold its just a 38mm gate flange. So a tial will also work, or any 38mm gate with the same style flange.

As far as the spring size, as said before, half the boost, mabye a bit more will be good. Only bad part is you can only run that setting as a minimum boost obviously. Id go with a 14ish psi spring.

I have an 8psi spring and am running around 22psi at 64% on my BC. Its fairly consistent as far as psi is concerned, but when I do decide to turn it up to 26-28psi I want a bigger spring. I don't want to port the hole on the mani larger for a larger gate but also don't want to pay 300 ish bucks for a new gate when I can spend 25 on a spring.
