Weak point of engine?
So I was wondering, what is the weak point of our engines? By that I mean, with lots of boost and added power, what are the components of the engine that tend to go first? Let's assume improper tuning doesn't play a factor in these failures...
So yeah, what is it? Headgasket, head studs, rods, pistons, valves, or what?

Overall the motors between the 2 are basically similar.
I believe AP1's are known to have weaker keepers/retainers in the head.
Stock h/g can take some serious abuse, no cause for alarm there, as well as stock headstuds, many have seen over 700whp+
Rods/pistons are also stout, but the pistons will tend to give way before the rods fail. The rings and/or lands will start to melt as the temps/boost increases.
That is of course in a nutshell.
Seems from my limited experience on here, "most" builds are safe in the <600whp range. Beyond that, it's a crapshoot where the problems start to arise.
