Default What Do I Need? Vortech Supercharger

Hi guys,

Just like the topic says... What do I need to boost 9 pounds safely on my stock S2K?

I know that I need injectors but I am unsure as to what size. Can I get away with less than EMS?

Your comments and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I have tried to search but the search function does not work properly while Iam at work.

Thanks

Must be a really difficult question to answer.

So long as you drop the compression, you can get away with almost anything.

Get the thicker head gasket and you don't have to worry about detonation, octane, etc.

What gasket would you recommend? What about the injector size? would eManage suffice or would you recommend the EMS?

I would recommend anything that eliminates detonation, or the chances thereof. So eManage or EMS to retard timing, yes.

I think that 7 psi is about the limit without going up in injector size. Going up in injector size necessitates fuel management as mentioned above.

Cometic for the gasket is what has been used out there with success. I would recommend head studs to go with this as well.

Here's what I've been running for a while reliably - Now if I only had the thicker gasket to lower compression ratio - Turbo, stock block, 7 psi of boost, 12.3:1 afr, stock injectors, Synchronic fuel pressure regulator, Missing Link. It isn't fancy, but it makes 300+ HP and reliable. I have to admit though that with the stock CR I get detonation on very hot days, which is why I would recommend the thicker head gasket.

You don't need a thicker headgasket until you run more than 10psi. See my sig for suggested goodies.

Sounds like you guys have sweet setups. Would the VAFC unit be of any benefit at 9 lbs with 550 injectors or is eManage the better choice?

Another thing, as far as the injectors... Do we need Saturated or Peak Hold?
