Default What to expect after vortech install..

Well, did a couple of runs last night, men, seems like the climb to 100 is way way faster now.. But i was curious though, i read somewhere that their vortech would make the rear break lose when the car hits vtec? and the blow off valve would b more noticeable at higher rpms.. Neither happened,... the blow off valve i could hear ever so slightly, but u only hear it if u try to listen for it.. I need to get a boost guage to see if im getting the right boost, and have to double check the tightness of all the pipes, vacuum tubes, just wanted to get your opinions.. But overall, i'm still happy w/ the setup, just wonderin if there's a lil room for more.. hehe

i know of the upgrades, but was just wonderin if i shld expect for the tires to break lose during acceleration soemtimes, or the blow off valve being more noticeable.. not sure if i could be leaking boost somewhere..

on that kit there arnt going to be to many spots for boost leaks, mybe from the blower to the A/c and the A/c to the TB, alos where the BOV is.

first make sure your belt it tightend properly, and after about 100 miles or so tighten it again it will break in. the vortech BOV on the stock kit is noticeable without having to try and hear for it.

I tightened all the hoses, etc, but still the same... I've read a couple of more threads and alot of people said that the wooshing sound coming from the vortech is clearly noticeable... I could hear mine, but i wouldnt say its that obvious.. Last thing to do is the belt tightness... Wish thre was a more scientific way of testing the belt tightness than just " u should b able to twist it 1/4..w/ moderate force.." what exactly is moderate force?? lol but i'll b getting a boost guage anyways, i'll see if im getting decent boost at the higher rpms... Thanks for al the replies --- by the way, when people say the blow off valve is noticeable, is that with the filter too?

All you need is a pair of good winter tires, some 195...put some tire polish all over them, keep them in the sun for a month, then put them on the rear and the rear will not be the only thing you will break loose.I try to improove traction, some try to make it worse, wow!
