Default What kind of butt power gains?

Hey guys, I am looking into doing some small upgrades. AAEM EMS, Ricks final gear, and Tech2 9psi pulley. I have a few questions regarding both.

-With my current setup (look at sig), what gear would be most beneficial? My car is strictly street and I want the best acceleration possible.
-Would I be better off getting a used AEM EMS or just getting a new one? Does anyone know of a used EMS? (I saw one not too long ago with a supercharger map already programed)
-About the Tech2 9psi pulley. Would it be wiser to go with a custom made one that would allow better gains than 10-20whp? Also, what size injectors would I want if I did go with the Tech2.
-I know the gear won't make any numbers on the dyno, but with the combo of the three, will there be a noticable performance difference?

If anyone has any experience or knowledge, please chime in!

I'm not an expert by any means, but from what I have been seeing...

1. On a NA S with just an intake, I've seen 20hp gains with a good tune on the EMS. With a 9psi pulley and the EMS I would expect to see large gains from the stock Vortech setup...I'd "guess" around 50hp

2. Used EMS is a great way to go to save some money...but DO NOT use any map that may come with it. Get it tuned for your engine and mods.

3. Not sure if doing custom would be better than the tech2, after all you just want to increase by 2 psi...the pulley should be the same size no matter who makes it for that extra 2psi. Not sure on injector size.

4. Gears are a personnal thing, how fast do you want to go and how fast do you want to get there. I've seen a lot of people saying that with a SC that 4.77 are too much and that the 4.44 or 4.5x is the better way to go.

Again I'm just relating what I have read over the past few months of looking into going FI. Take the infomation with a gain of salt and research you butt off

*edited out some the typos...too many beers already lol*

For the money, the FD is money well spent. I had the 4.77 FD with my car (370+ RWHP on Mustang Dyno) and loved the setup. I had the 4.77 gears before I had the motor built and put in the supercharger ... it was a very noticeable improvement. When my tranny failed in Dec, I replaced it with the 04 tranny and with the lower gearing went with the 4.5x FD ... which I'm also very happy with ... although part of me wonders whether I should have stuck with the 4.77.

As for the AEM EMS, I would buy a used one. That's what I did. I paid about $975 vs the $1,800 or so new. I agree with Scorpion though that you shouldn't use whatever map it comes with. Invest in a good dyno tune ... otherwise you might as well skip the EMS.

Looks like the 4.77 is the way to go. As for the pulley, I was refering to whether I should buy a Tech2 9 psi pulley or get a custom one made that would allow higher boost than 9psi.

msm s2k: With 370+whp, what kind of cars (performance wise) did it compare to? Any kill stories?

Keep in mind that with 4.77 FD your gearing will be pretty aggressive with the supercharger. If that's what you're looking for (I was) it delivers. If you do a lot of free way driving keep in mind that you'll be at a significantly higher RPM with the 4.77 FD.

As for "kills" I don't race it around on the streets. It's a lot of fun to drive on the track though.

Where did you get the 11# pulley from? I'm currently running a 9, but considering going to 11 or 12 since my motor is built for it.

I completely agree with the *WHO ACTUALLY OWNS* comment.
