Default At what point do I need an aftermarket MAP Sensor

Hey Guys,

I'm preparing to up the boost on my vortech kit to 12lbs. I will be tuning with Greddy E-Manage Ultimate. My question is if I need a 4-bar Map sensor such as the hondata, or if there is one made specifically for the EMU by Greddy, or if my stock will suffice.

I'm not sure of the limits of the stock MAP so I'm actually pretty clueless on this one.

If it makes a difference, I have an AP1 and I'll be running a 4.2" pulley, 650cc injectors, EMU, 3" cat-back and test pipe. I also will be installing the banjo bolts along with a new clutch and flywheel.

Any thoughts or recommendations of what else I may need?

Thanks for all the help!

Nate

from reading on this site, it seems you will not need one till you go over 400whp. so....you should be fine without one!!

Well, I don't think I'll cross the 400whp mark, but with some luck I may be close. I may spring for it anyways.

You won't need a 4 bar but you're right on the limit of the OEM. I'd recommend a 2 bar AEM.

Awesome, I'll get right on it. Is there anything else you think I should be picking up while I'm at it. I want to make sure I get all the right parts the first time to keep things safe and reliable (as reliable as pushing 400whp can be, lol)

you could also buy a Omni 2.5 bar special order map sensor which would be plug and play. Just an option.

There is an adaptor to mount the AEM in the stock location. You can get it from Tuner Toys:

I hate to say it but do some search's

The factory is no good after 11.8 PSI

Greddy's is plug and play wiht the Emanage, you can replace the stock with and OMNI but good luck trying to get ti to work. There is only one person that has spent the time to do it so far.
