Default What size FMIC are you using?

I am looking to buy an IC and I was told to look for a 24x6x2.5 size. I'm having a hard time finding this size so is there a window of acceptable size to look for? I've been looking on Ebay for one so far.

Also if anyone has one for sale shoot me a PM. I also need an EMS

24x6x2.5 is fairly small. I'm pretty sure that the one I'm using is at least 8" tall and 3" deep. I'll measure this week. IIRC, the Precision 750 hp core fits.

Yes,

I am very currious as to the size of your guys intercoolers. The one I am usuing is not the biggest that is for sure. Would I really see a gain in power from a larger IC??? My thinking is it would just be on the general safer as it would keep Intake temps down to help prevent knock. Thoughts?

A bigger intercooler will only help you if you havent fully covered the opening in the grill. a thicker intercooler is also better

Larger FMIC != better cooling. The core & endtank design is vital. Just because it is bigger than the grill also does not mean it wont work better. Going too thick on the FMIC restricts airflow to the radiator and can lead to overheating.

Also some people are too concerned about pressure drop of a large intercooler and they think it isn't advantageous and will go with a smaller and less efficient core. That's the wrong way to go about it. Even with a greater pressure drop the cooler air and efficiency will provide greater benefits.

36X10.5X3.5 but its a little to big for the stock bumper so it looks a little weird kinda takes away from the car
but it works well

is it better to mount the IC all the way forward so its flush with the bumper? or settled back?

flush to the bumper will direct all airflow to the core for maximum cooling but placing it back a few inches won't hurt either.

I'm running a 31x12x3 and it sits snug behind the crash bar and inbetween the frame rails without any modification.
