What Trans fluid are you running
My story and trans background....
I just turned 113,000 miles, past -4000 running a SOS Stage 2 kit 4.0", at 382whp. When at 35,000 miles the front seal on the trans went out. Dealer said just run Honda. I changed it more than needed every 6000-9000 miles. I removed the CDV in 2007 at 35000 miles and swapped out the clutch to ACT and stock disk.
For the first 109,000 miles I drive pretty hard but never off the line. Once moving Redline and sometimes 2nd gear chirp. Now 2013 I've added or almost doubled my whp
first and second don't always want to go into gear sitting at signal waiting for green, I've got to hunt for 3rd then push it into 1st. If I shift quick into 2nd it bites and grinds.
The other night came to a signal and it was a mother to get into 1st went to second would not go in, Oshit. the other gears are fine. The clutch fluid reservoir was full and I change that fluid every other month or if it seems slightest dirty. At time of SC install I installed the Clutch master FX100 and it hold fine for 4000 miles of power driving
The replacement trans a 2008 trans with 29,000 miles on its way at a reasonable price and want to use a GREAT fluid in the trans. I want to use the power in all the gears and have the fluid work. I dont think Honda fluid had any issues but really considering the AMSOIL. What is the viscosity I should look for?? This car is for Weekends and night. I will not see any freezing temps only above 40 degrees and will see summer temps 100-110 degrees. New 3.8" pulley in hand and being installed with new trans. My tuner said 30-40 whp gain from current whp and my using 2.5 gallon of 100oct every 1/2 tank.
Is there a AMSOIL fluid weight or just one to consider in your fluid selection?

I used to use redline blue shock proof but I would get locked out of 1st gear. I've since changed to a 75-90w gear oil and it seems to work really well. All oils are changed every 3k miles. I'm making about 475whp
I used Amsoil Syncromesh on the stock box but for the PPG Redline Lightweight Shockproof. Switching to Motul Gear fluid (as per PPG recommendation)
I noticed the AMSOIL (or maybe just my tranny) worked 10x better when is was really hot. I would say after the 3rd or so pass at the track the tranny fealt great

I'm not FI yet but i highly rec Amsoil or GM friction modified synchromesh (I'm running GM FMS). I had problems with my trans popping out of 2nd gear sometimes. Was sure I needed synchros, did a fluid change and haven't had a problem since. The shifting was really smooth and got better and better for about 1000 miles or so. Its colder now but it still shifts great.
