Default what's the best setup for me ?

HI everyone !

i know this have been asked a lot and i kinda did my research on it but i couldn't figure out the best thing to do with my car !

i just got the car not too long ago with this set up on it:

Comptech Supercharger Novi 1000
front mount intercooler
Comptech fuel pressure regulator
Tech2 high boost pulley ( the guy told me it's running 10 PSI on that)
Berk Technology header
Berk Technology test pipe
HKS Hiper exhaust ( i'm changing that to a single HKS soon )
AEM EMS 2
Inline Pro fuel rail
ACT stage 3 clutch
Spoon Sports lightweight flywheel
RC Engineering 550cc injectors
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Koyorad radiator

the guy who i bought the car from said the car is running on 10PIS on that pulley, but from what i have read that it only can get 7PSI.

i was thinking to get an SOS 3.4'' pulley and 750 injectors and get it retuned. i wanna get good power and still have the reliability of the car.

should change anything els ?
is the front intercooler ok with this setup or do i have to go withe aftercooler?

any idea ?

thanks !

I'd suggest getting an aftercooler with a large heat exchanger. you'll make more power on this setup with this. Also just jump straight to ID1000s for injectors... this way you won't have to upgrade again.. do you have a boost gauge? check how much boost you are running with the setup. if you pulley down just make sure you don't overspin the blower! i'm not sure about the specs of the comptech blower so youd have to look it up in the thread (i believe its stickied)

Well you probably don't have just the front mount do you? You don't have a aftercooler already? Not sure how that set up would look...but you don't need the CT FPR...just found that out yesterday...I have one that is going to come off...and it is a pita to get off and on. You will probably want to get 1000 injectors just to be on the safe side. If you want to buy a really, really good pulley...I know someone who will sell you one. A Reichard Racing Pulley...check around, none better. (PM me) Other than that...find a known tuner in your area...someone that a member on here has used and can vouch for. A good tuner will be your biggest quest...

hey guys !

yeah i have an intercooler on the car and no aftercooler, it was replaced. i wasn't really planning to get an aftercooler. i like the intercooler's looking more !
i was just wondering if it will make a big difference !

about the pulley, i got advised a lot to get the SOS.

i'm thinking to do these changes now >

a new SOS 3.4 pulley < it should run to about 10 PSI
1000 Injectors
3mm head gasket
change the exhaust to a single HKS
and get it retuned !!

what do you guys think ?

Stay with a stock headgasket, 3mm headgaskets are junk. You will eventually blow the headgasket and it's really not needed. Plenty of people use the stock head gasket up to 500+ whp on stock motors with no problem, including myself. You will make more power as well.

I think from what you mentioned you might already have the 3.4" pulley on the car. Your set up with an intercooler will probably lose around 2-3lbs of boost because of the piping. So if you're only see 7psi that might mean you already have a 3.4, I had a friend who ran a 3" and got 12psi with an intercooler with his AP2. I also run a 3" and I see 13-14psi but I have an aftercooler. But more boost doesnt always mean more power it depends on how efficient your set up is

There are heat exchangers that are pretty much the same size as intercoolers if you still want that "look"

the heat exchanger I have looks just like an intercooler behind my bumper.

look up frozenboost or SOS's larger Heat exchanger

also, the head gasket isnt needed

i'm not sure about the real boost, i never push the car so hard to see what's the gauge reading !
from what i have read around online it seems the pulley should give a 7 PSI, and the guy who i bought the car from told it's tuned to 10 PSI !
i'm not sure what did he do to bump it like that !
i like the intercooler looking and the sounding of the Bov on it too
and i'm getting a 75mm HKS single ! that should make it better
and i'll need a new tune, the tunning now on the car is shitty i think lol
thanks anyway man

yeah man i checked that out, the price kept me out of doing that. a new aftercooler is about $1400 plus the heat exchangers price. and from i what i have read that not a lot of HP will be lost with that.
and about the head gasket i think i'm not getting that either everyone said no to it !

thanks man
