S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

What's the MOST RWHP EVER from a S2000?

Let's see if your statement holds true:

Arnold's S2000 currently sets the benchmark for all other S2000s who are competitively involved in drag racing. His S2000 makes ~750rwhp, weighs ~2400lbs and ran 9.36 @ 143.9.

David Buschur has an Evo 8 which he uses as a daily driver (Arnold's S2000 is far from street legal), it has full interior, weighs ~3300lbs, makes ~635awhp (on 93 octane) and ran 9.71 @ 144.8 (again on 93 octane).

Bottom line: Open yours eyes and think outside the box.
something doesnt make sense about those times. isnt that s2k time the one where he let off at the 1000' mark? with that power, that weight, trap shoulda been higher......

can anyone else elaborate?

[QUOTE=2QYK4U,Mar 2 2009, 10:58 PM] Arnold's S2000 definitely could have run a few tenths of a second quicker on that day.

One last thing...a AWD car with all things being equal, will out ET a RWD/FWD car. The advantage is in the first 60ft. However the further the two cars get down the track, the less and less that advantage remains before it becomes a hindrance due to drivetrain loss. That being said, all other things being equal, a RWD/FWD will always post a higher trap speed due to less drivetrain loss with the greatest advantage of this belonging to FWD. RWD falls in the middle of the 3, which is why its the most used drivetrain setup in drag racing.
I'll say it again. AWD is only an aid when you're running street tires or drag radials. Same engine, same weight, same slicks, same burnout box, same lane, the RWD car can launch harder. The reason is the weight transfer you get coming off the line. It helps a RWD car quite a bit more than it helps an AWD car. It actually hurts AWD cars like the DSMs and Subarus which are setup to put more power to the front than to the rear.

When the weight transfers to the back in a RWD car, your drive tires are planted to the ground, increasing traction. When the weight transfers to the rear in an AWD DSM, you're planting two tires which have at MOST (with a welded center diff) 50% of the power.

There's a very good reason that the fastest AWD 60' time I've ever seen is a 1.296 (John Shepherd), while Mustangs running similar times as him (7.70) cut 1.0-1.1 60' times.

Also, if AWD was actually better for drag racing, they would be using it more often. Top fuel is RWD for a reason. All the big NHRA classes are RWD for a reason. Making enough power to make up for the extra driveline loss is easy. If the launches were better with AWD in anything that isn't a street class, then AWD would be the norm and not the exception in drag racing.

100k? LMFAO you've been watching wayyy too much F&F homie.
Actually I am speaking the truth. I used to talk to Arnold (blues2k) frequently when I was doing my project S2000. He told me he had spent over $100k on his S2000, and that was even with all the discounts inlinePRO had given him. PM him and ask him yourself if you don't believe me.

I don't think we'll ever see a 1100rwhp F20/F22.

Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree on the AWD vs RWD issue.

And sorry, I don't buy the 100k spending bill either. Either all the components are gold plated and made of unobtanium or some shit or he's lying. Again, we'll just agree to disagree. But I'll have trouble letting that one go lol
