S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

What's needed to make 350hp, 400hp?

After the kit installed, you will need; AEM EMS, injectors, and a tune.

Consider spending $2500.00 for the step up, and security of doing it right.....good luck.

Erick

Vortech...
from what i read, is the AEM necessary? can you tune it with a VAFC and spend the extra few hundred on something else? of course this is given that you do not plan on going full blown 500whp.
no flames please, just a question.

The AEM or any standalone is the best couple hundred you can spend on a modified car.

You will need one of these. Now it needs to be full when you start the project, and it will be empty about 1/2 through. So find a way to refill it along the way

Soon, it will all be for sale. The turbo bug has bitten......
How much boost (psi) are you running to get around 350 whp?

Riceboi, stock boost. You should definitely consider the AEM. Think control, and safety. You don't want all your planning and hard work to go in an instant. The AEM allows for proper tuning of vital functions which are critical elemnts in the go fast equation..

Also, Stratocaster is right...you need money (Scarface/Tony Montano tone) if you want to go fast..

If you're wanting to get up into the 400hp range, you might really want to think about skipping the sc and going straight to turbo. Seriously. Once you start modding the basic SC kits to get that kind of power, they're neither bolt-on nor inexpensive and not that much different from running a turbo setup in terms of maintenance/commitment/etc. Plus 400hp from a turbo > 400hp from a sc due to the power curve.

Just my $0.02

Yeah I know, but I live in cali so smog would be a bitch, unless someone knows a place that can "hook me up".

Another thing that I don't think was covered in the discussion in terms of superchargers pushing high HP numbers:

I want to preface this by saying that I don't know too much about the specifics of superchargers and the modification of those setups for additional power.

But one thing that I heard/read about that could be an issue with superchargers at higher boost levels is the impeller speed when used with a very small pulley to get higher boost. I have heard that once you get into really small pulleys you end up going over the maximum safe speed that the supercharger should be spun... At that point the actual supercharger should be upgraded to one that can handle the boost and impeller speed. Not doing so can risk failure of the supercharger and serious damage to other components. I think this starts becoming an issue with the superchargers supplied with the stock vortech and comptech kits around 400 whp from what I've seen (dont know what size pulley that would be).

With that being said, I know of people well above that 400 whp mark that have yet to have any of these problems ( :knockonwood: for their sake ) So I don't know if it should actually be a concern or not. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than myself can chime in...
