Default Whats too cold to for 1/4.............

So, car has new front tires, 3,000 miles on the rear, fresh alignment/oil/plugs and I am all ready to head to ATCO raceway this saturday morning. Only thing I am worried about is mid 40F temps, and probably colder track temps the earlier in the morning. I dont plan on running Race gas, just 93, which is 550, probably a tad higher with the cooler weather and slight increase in boost. I am limited to 12 lbs in 1st and 2nd, but will be around 17-18 from 3rd on. This seem like a recipe for disaster? I would imagine 40F would not be a problem late in the afternoom when the durface has warmed up. Anyway, thoughts on this?

Thanks

Best of luck Joey

If you've got anyway to reduce your boost that would be the first port of call. Maybe disconnect your EBC and run at spring pressure?

Nice.

believe it or not, sub 45F it is more like 18psi. When it gets this cold I run 3 gallons of Xyelene to 10 gallons of 93, it gives me 100 Octane . he plugs tend to go to sh-t quicker, but small price to pay for ZERO detonation and what seems like more responsive car/just pulls harder. Also when I run the car hard and pop the hood, the charge pipe and intake manifold are actually COLD, not lukewarm, but cold, gotta love Water/Meth when it's cold out. 99% of the time though I am running just 12lbs

Anyway, wish me luck, I am going to give it a whirl

Nice!

I am running Bridgestone RE-11 (255/40/17), less than 3,000 Miles on them. I can run 12lbs in 1st and second then turn it up from 3rd on up . I don't mind not running a 3 second 60ft, lol it's getting loose over 75mph that scares me

What PSI did you run in your rears?

took the rears down to around 24psi, im not sure how your tires hold but honestly i never had a problem out of 1st spinning and 2nd kicking out a little, the track is gonna hook better then the street remember that also so if you have been okay on the street i wouldnt worry too much!!
