Where to buy e85 safe fuel lines?
I know there has been a lot of debate on stock fuel lines and using e85. Some have said that cars after a certain date don't have a problem, but I don't know.
In a methanol injection set-up that a buddy was running we used goodyear fuel line hose that we picked up from Autozone. The manufacturer lists that this hose is good and up to date on all manufacturing codes up to 2006. So this should be the new design hose that everyone is talking about that is safe in cars after a certain date. The system was on the car for 11 months and he is selling the car so we took the system off yesterday.....
Now all the lines that were used in the flow of the system were fine, but they felt really squishy.......not good. THEN the hose that was the reservoir pickup that was actually in the tank itself was horrible. It was partially caved and felt like silly puddy in your hand, and the rubber was just flaking off and oozing everywhere.
ANYWAY, now I am in search of what hose I can use that will be e85 safe.
Many people give the generic comment that any steal braded line will do, yet when looking up the manufacturer's specs they don't specify anywhere that they are approved for ethanol based fuel's. And I have searched, and many of the lead manufacturer's at summit.com list no where that there lines are approved for ethanol based fuel's. MAKES SENSE TO ME.......don't know why people think that if you wrap the rubber hose in braided steel that all of a sudden the rubber inside can withstand anything.
I just assumed it was ignorant people just giving an answer that sounded smart to them so they went with it. What I am hoping is that it wasn't ignorant people but people that really had experience with it and could chime in.
SO. What I am looking for is someone that has experience with a fuel line that works, OR someone that knows of a brand that is ethanol safe, and could give me the brand name of the product.
Thanks

I am planning on running this type of line, but I would like them to be E85 compatiable as well. Most lines say there compatiable for everything but they don't mention it there ethonal compatiable.

most all hoses for fuel injection should not be a problem - however, if the hose is going to be completely submerged in the fuel then you need a hose designed for that - napa has such a hose - $20 per foot!
