Default who here had a headgasket go on them?

hey guys. i have a 3mm headgasket on my 500whp turbo s2000. I have a feeling my headgasket is on its way out. it doesnt smoke, however i have bled the system completely several times and after a few days of hard driving the heat will get cold when sitting at a light. I think what is happening is when I am boosting on the car the cylinders have so much positive pressure its pushing air into the coolant system through a weak point in the headgasket. Also everytime i take the cap off the car if it is cold no matter what a bunch of coolant forces itself out.

Im just curious to see what were some of the symptoms that made you realize your headgasket was shot.

yeah deff sounds like compression is passing into the coolant ports which are some early signs of a blown hg...i would reccomend replacing the headgasket and having the head resurfaced.

You can also try some test strips. They tell you if your coolant is contaminated.

hmmm never heard of those...where do you purchase them?

what i do at work is. i use this coolant funnel that attatches to the radiator (use it to bleed coolant systems after i do anything with the coolant) and i put cylinder by cylinder top dead center and with a leak down tester i force 100psi into each cylinder 1 by 1 till i see bubbles (compressed air) coming threw the radiator and that usually tells me what cylinder i have a problem in.
