There are lots of people out there still running the 1012. It's actually the same internals as the 1052, just in a smaller case.

I am. It's a great box and has worked well for me. The V2 brings some pretty cool options, but for someone with the older boxes, I wouldn't bother upgrading. Of note, some of the early ones had starting trouble. Some of it was related to the crank sensor pickup, but some of it was tuning.

also, the starting issues can be fixed in the same way they are in the 1052, change a couple resistors to get a stronger cam/crank signal.
