Why would my turbo S2000 have lowered redline?
My 2000 Turbo has a redline set at 8k rpm. any reason you guys can think of for this? It was built less that 500 miles ago. Very limited power band 5500-8000. Here are the mods.

Twin 38mm tial wastegates
Custom header, downpipe and midpipe

Thats possible but there arent a whole lot of variables with my car vs most other guys turbo cars. I dont have any engine work done so I would assume I have similar power curves to other people.

Bad tuner probably. You say its a conservative tune? If timing was really advanced, maybe they would lower the redline because it was detonating up top (which is dumb imo). Maybe they had a spark blow out / misfire problem they couldn't figure out above 8k rpms. Ask the dude who tuned it or just go get retuned elsewhere.
