Default wideband?

Ok I'm looking at getting a 52mm guage type wideband. Which ones are good? bad?

Do they simulate narrowband well? I'd like not to hav eot drill/weld new bungs on.

I see some let you use the stock primary location and send a narrowband signal to teh ecu.

I have the AEM UEGO wideband.

It won't provide the stock ECU with the proper signal. You would have to get the AEM EMS to go with it. The EMS can use the wideband signal to run the fuel map. That's a very pricey way to add a wideband gauge. Best to punch another hole in the header or buy an aftermarket header that already has 2 sensor holes (eg. Toda).

Not necessarily. A muffler shop can install that bung with the header on the car.

Look at the link I put up. It shows you where it goes.

ok. makes sense. What about installing a bung on a test pipe closer to teh header? That would be around the same spot, would it not?

Assuming you aren't running the AEM EMS, the AEM units usually come with a narrowband output wire. You should place it around where the factory one is (you can just put it right before).

yea I was just trying to see if i coudl put it on the test pipe. Since I'm probably going to install my exhaust myself, I coudl take the test pipe to get teh bung welded on without taking my entire car there.....

PLX makes a sensor + guage that has a narrowband output. I guess I coudl try one of those out. around the same price as a aem, if not cheaper.
