Hey I'm getting a new laptop and since they do not come with DB9 serial ports, I was wondering how well the emanage will work on a PCMCIA serial card. I understand from looking around on other forums that with a simple adapter you'd have to cycle COM ports every time and that you'd have to upload a program for the adaper to work properly so I was looking for a better solution. With the PCMCIA card, will the serial ports function as if they were attached to the motherboard?

 

Do you have USB? you can get USB to serial adapters and I have found they are easier to deal with then pcmcia adapters.

Yes but you have to use the cable that comes with it that is USB to serial port.

Get the serial to USB adapter, I have one works great.
