How do you do that?

Was just looking at it again, if it is 100k ohm resistor it may actually read that low. You would want a much lower resistor to be used so you get better resolution for that sensor. I believe the EGT's have a jumper not the ADCR14 so that would not apply for you. You would need to use D7 instead of D8, and either wire in your own resistor(2.2k ohm) or open the ECU and switch the jumper to the therm position.

It says in the aem manual that ADCR is a 5v 100k pull up contact though?

I don't fancy opening up the ECU

I don't blame you. You can wire up your own resistor fairly easily.

Ok thanks I was hoping to avoid doing that.

Average Joe post seems to agree with the instructions included so I though I didn't need a resistor.

This is the diagram included (same as yours except it shows the resistor in the ECU)

Thanks for all the help

Will any 2.2k ohms resistor do?

Like this?

Average Joe is suggesting to use the 100k pull-up resistors, which I guess I disagree with. The different between 194degree and 230 degree's would be .006volts. I'm not sure if the AEM can even tell the difference at that point, assuming a perfect connection with no fluctuation. I think that resistor should work.

What you've just said seems logical to me

I've wired a resistor in line as per the drawing....

Why is D7 the correct terminal?

D7- avail jumper set for 0-5v input

What does the "jumper set" bit mean?

(I understand the 100k pull bit as you explained before regarding D8).

The only other terminal avalible is C7 (avail 0-5v input) as per the OP post......

A temp sensor does not output a 0-5 volt signal, it only provides resistance, which can't be directly read by a micro-controller(ECU). This is where the pull-up resistor comes into play, it uses the 5volt signal, pull-up resistor and temp sensor to provide a readable 0-5volt signal for the ECU. For D7 you can optionally enable the internal jumper to use the built in 2.4k ohm resistor which will allow the ecu to read resistance. This is not configured out of the box this way, and is set up to directly read a 0-5volt signal not resistance.
