i had a ton of problems last summer with overheating issues (or so i thought). basically the car would see all kinds of bars on the ap1 cluster and i just dont trust the readings on the stock gauge so... long story short i have done just about EVERYTHING in the world to cover this problem. I will just have to wait till after my tune and warmer weather to test my ideas on fixing the problem.

first things first... yes the system was bled several times the correct way. So here is a list of mods i have done to help fix the problem

-DIY OEM hood vents (i love them, will add mesh someday but i like the open look)
-trimmed the bumper guard and bumper so that i have (2 1/2in) clearance for air at speed
-cut a hole in the bottom trim (13inx6in) and mounted some HOME DEPOT lip under the car to try and catch air
-switched to water wetter/distilled water/tiny bit of antifreeze
-added a prosport premium water temp gauge

before you post stupid comments... yes i realize that most of this is probably too much, and the ap1 gauge is probably the problem. but after all of this i can have piece of mind that i am NOT overheating no matter what the temp is outside.

Love the new gauge location Are you concerned with the accuracy of the stock gauge or sending unit? Do you log coolant temps? If so, what do the logs relay? (My vote is to keep the hood vents open; looks great)

i AM concerned with the stock gauge accuracy but i have not logged any data. i needed another gauge to fill the spots in the dash so a water temp gauge was an easy win. last summer.. with any boost at all i saw 4-5 bars when 3 is normal.

like the open look on the vents? i plan to buy the mesh, and attach them with clips for easy removal. then buy and cut carbon fiber panels the same size so i can switch them in and out if i ever get stuck in the rain (i never take it out in the rain.. only back and forth between shows is what i mean)
