I'm pretty sure there is a leak. Not sure if it's a crack or just at the gasket but now I suspect the former.

I'll probably pull it off on the weekend.

I had the same black soot on the side of my engine bay, lucky it was just the gasket. I just replaced it this weekend to just find the downpipe cracked.

When it rain it pours.
