Yet another walbro fuel pump thread
I was at stock fuel pressure and only ran 18 psi and it failed I'm on my second walboro and the first one sounded terrible. My car shut off after cruising on the highway and stop and go traffic only 35 miles of driving from my shop to my house. I drive my car a lot the last thing I want to worry about is the pump.
Okay, so a slightly OT question then...
What do I have to think about when doing a pumphanger? I am thinking a feedconnection, a returnconnection, a holder for the pump and the fuel level sensor.
Smart cable solution thorough the upper "disc" to allow relay rewired pump. As i have rebuilt my system to a returnsystem i do not need and releasevalve on the hanger like my stock hanger does?
Anything else needed? I am just gonna fabricate one.

I've used several Walbro's on different setups and never had an issue.
I usually purchase them from a known source, instead of eBaying it up..and that has treated me well.
For the price, they can't be beat.

I have used alot of walbro pumps and had a few fail, but never in this way.
are you sure there isnt a problem with your fuel pressure regulator or your wiring?
even if the resistance of the pump increases it should draw more current as a result and the voltage should remain the same.

Base fuel pressure is about ~340 KPa (or about 49psi) and my max boost is 150 Kpa (or 21psi) so max pressure is about 70psi (I'm using the stock FPR so it's a 1:1 rising rate).
My fuel pump came from inlinepro both times, I doubt it's a fake.
I rewired my fuel pump to 10ga wire with a 30A fuse iirc. Wiring should be perfectly fine.
How would I know if my FPR is going bad? As I said, everything is fine until driving for a bit (or it's hot out) and the pump gets loud while also dropping fuel pressure slowly but surely.

I should mention, that my base fuel pressure is with the vacuum line connected so without it connected it should be 8-10psi greater? Is there a problem here?
I have been hearing a hissing noise coming from my engine near the fuel rail. I think it's the PCV valve starting to leak a bit (should probably order a new one) but now I'm thinking maybe it's my FPR?

I had a problem with my first fuel dampner... There is a screw inside of it and it somehow stripped and came loose.. I have no idea how this happened but caught it when I was swapping rails and heard something loose inside of it.
Theres also a screen/filter in the rail under the FPR you may want to check.. I doubt it's the problem though. Don't damage it though, they don't sell the filter seperate from the damn rail. ( ask me how I know).
