I have the 1052U w/ serial gauge & its served me well, but If I was in your position I would buy the series 2.

$450 is "half" the price for a good tune???

Interesting! I purchased the series 2 and my car FAILED to tune with it. (on Sept 2, 2011) No joke - Jeff Evans couldn't get the series 2 unit to recognize my crank correctly. It kept counting 25 teeth. He snapped in a series 1, 1052, and voila - tuned to 354 hp and 211 lb/ft. AEM has some explaining to do! but what i wonder is if anyone has had a similair issue? Oh, and since I purchase the serial gauges, the stock temp gauge not working was no real issue, but if you buy that gauge you are still well below the price of the 6052.

Picked up my series 2 used for $900 shipped. You just have to be patient and and check the for sale threads everyday. I wouldn't pay more than $600 for a 1052 especially sense AEM is/was having a blowout sale on them.

I just tuned mine at Evans and am having some high temp issues. Just for info sake, what temps does your setup run normally and under WOT?

From my experience anything under 195 while moving is OK. My car has only gone up to 205 while sitting in traffic on really hot days, as soon as the fan kicks in it drops down.
If temps are getting too high you need to re-bleed your coolant.

I'm not a daily driver, but I took the S to work today and purposely tried to heat it up -20 min drive and couldn't get it over 201.
