Default your opinion on this deal

So i am in progress of buying parts for boosting the S. I do have a few things already bought and installed and EMS is next. I have a local selling a 4 month old aem 1052 with a base tune for turbo(witch means i can drive to the tuner slowly but surely sense i am installing everything myself) but my question is...Should i wait and save a bit more for a series 2?

I have no epxerience with any tuning of my own, witch i wont be doing and no experience with any EMS. I have read the ups and downs between series 1 and 2 and so far i have the following.
-start up problems with series 1(some people stated it takes 4-6cranks to start up the car)
-OEM coolant temp needs a fix (i do have an oil temp gauge installed so either than that getting annoying to look at, oil temp is more important to me)
-series two has a bit more logging storage

Witch one should I buy if i can have my hands on a series 1 for $800 or buy a brand new series 2 for $1300 shipped(unless i find a used one witch i highly doubt). AEM is the best of the best for the s2000 and people have had great success with the 1052. What is your opinion? Series 1 or series 2?

That's a rather bold statement from someone looking for advice.

Yep, answered his own question. Guess the 1052 is the winner

I own series 1 because the ver 2 had just came out when I bought mine and most tuners were more familiar with ver 1. I do want to upgrade so that my coolant gauge works and eventually I will, I just don't want to have to go have a new tune done right now

I own a 1012 and am very happy with it. I also have Modifry's ECT fix too so feel no reason to upgrade.

1052u with modify fix and ur set. I am very happy with mine. No complaints and i saved some cash

Never drive on someone elses tune unless u can verify it will be ok.

Regardless u still need to set bade timing and throttle sensor. Have ur tuner send u a base map or trailer the car to them.

How far is ur tuner from ur home?

Good to see I'm not the only one with this problem. Let us know what you decide and how you like it

Well i know for a fact that both will work great but i do know that series 2 has more features and is perhaps more user friendly. My main point is: Is me spending another $450 extra JUST FOR series 2 worth the benefits. $450 is half of the price for a good tune Im still trying to cut costs down but while only buying quality products. There is a line between those two and im just trying to find one

My 1052 has been perfect. I also bought mine used for $800 from a local member. Don't have the stock coolant gauge working but have a serial gauge which shows that info anyways so doesn't bother me at all.
