Default your turbo or supercharger experience?

I had a Vortech supercharger setup on my car in UK and I had a lot of problems with it. Despite that I would love to go Turbo sometime but I've heard a fair few horror stories.

So I wanted to do a thread where people can post how going FI has worked out for them. I know there are going to be a few horror stories but I would like to hear from people who have had no problems, hopefully there are a lot.

Maybe post your car, your setup, age/mileage of kit and what problems if any you've had?

Car: 99 JDM import s2000
Mileage: 45,000
Setup: Vortech supercharger, AEM, Toda 2.2 low compression stroker kit w/9000rpm redline, dyno'd 304 RWHP

After breakin and 2000 miles I went on a trackday. Late in the day on the straight a piston caught a valve and engine grenaded, smashed block.
Tuner claimed I must have overrevved it.

Car: 2007 U.S S2k
mileage:16000
Miles on FI- 1200 miles of abuse
Setup: Kraftwerks Supercharger kit (10 psi puting down around 350-360 whp). Maybe ill add a stroker to it one day who knows.

i had a big oil leak the first time i took it out but that was because of the improper tightening of the fittings on the oil relocation kit. After that i havn't had a single problem. No leaks or anything. Love FI

MY 04 CTSC with 30k miles.
Boosting CTSC Approx. 8k miles from 5.5 psi,9psi and at 12psi with all stock internal and exhaust.
Love it every single moments behind the wheel,Have been smoked a few fast cars Bolts on M3,MZ3,MZ4,911,Sti.
I'll never go back to NA.That's for sure.
CTSC is very very Reliable and I Haven't encounter any problem.
The only Problem is Boosting Killing my Pocket.

2004 S2000
Mileage = 20k?
Custom Setup - originally log manifold, then tubular, then scored a cylinder when motor overheated, then rebuilt the motor and reworked a lot of the turbo setup.

Lots of downtime, broken parts, and $$. The log setup was pretty unreliable at first, bolts backed out all of the time. I even lost my dump tube and almost the whole turbo on the interstate once. The tubular was more reliable with bolts backing out, but only because almost everything was v-band. The tubular did crack and had to be rewelded. It also touched some coolant lines, burned through them, I lost coolant, and the motor overheated. Since the rebuild of the motor and the rework of the turbo setup, it's actually been pretty reliable. It took a long time and a lot of $$ to get there though.

2004 S2000
mileage - 56000
Greddy turbo kit
Have about 1000 miles on the kit.
Easy install (did it allmyself and I am no mechanic), boosting at 9psi with HFC and stock exhaust. Want to get Invidia V4 70mm cat back and hope to be about 300hp 220tq at 10 psi. Right now with the tune, i ran 275whp and 207 ft lbs.

Only problems are (2) vacuum lines blew off (now tiewrapped) and I have a VERY slow oil leak where the drain plug used to be and is now the oil supply for the turbo (2 drops a day). When i change the oil I will tighten it.

Love the turbo kit, and look around for deals and you will find them.

Problems:Bolts that hold compressor came loose, tightened up, never had the problem again. Oil return line clamp came loose, tightened it, never came loose again.

Other than that, problem free.

Car: 2000 U.S S2k
mileage:90000
Miles on FI- about 6000
Setup: Vortech 7psi, 355hp, EMS, 750's.

2005 w/9000 miles, Comptech S/C installed at about 2000 miles. Initially standard boost, now AEM, injectors, etc and 8.5lbs peak boost.

Absolutely flawless in terms of reliability. Did everything myself except the AEM install and tune. Burns no oil, starts every time, and I've never had a single CEL - ever. Even with exhaust and high-flow cat. Really a testament to Honda's design and engineering.

I should add that I am very anal and this is a second car. Everything I've done to it was using quality new parts. It's mostly garage kept and I check the oil weekly, pull plugs every month or so, check belt tension monthly, and put a wrench on every part of the S/C installation at least a couple times a year and/or before every track event.
