Your delay probably is because of the CDV. I just recently replaced my AP2 clutch cylinder with an AP1 one and I have no more of that delay.

OP has an AP1 and those do not have CDVs.

OP, your car sounds pretty good! Go a little easier on the clutch engagements and you can still salvage what's left of your clutch life.

Bullsh!t, late in the AP1 run of MY03 they started implementing the CDV. Some 03 AP1's have the CDV. Don't let these noobs fool you by spreading false info.
