Wow...i agree that the current IS300 is, head and shoulders, much more visually appealling than that POS. Nice numbers on those engines though.

I want to bring up some points about the engine...
This is what wantone posted (not harassing you, just throwing out the specs for discussion):

2.4L Inline 4 210HP
2.5L V6 230HP
3.0L V6 260HP
3.5L V6 280-330HP

First, I doubt the 4cyl would make it here, but it might when you consider that Lexus needs a competitor for the 1 Series and A Class in price, and can't go below the IS (feed into Toyota's sales)

2.5L V6 making 230HP? The current 3.0 makes 215 so something is weird there and why would they need an engine with just 20 more horses than the one below it?

3.0L V6 making 260 HP? I really doubt it'll be just 260 HP, that's what the competition is making now, let alone wanting to be ahead when the car is introduced in '04. Again, 260 HP from just 3.0 litres...hmmm...

3.5L V6? I can see it happening but from what I heard the engine lineup should be more like this-

IS300-Same I6 as the current model, 215 HP, optional AWD, 6 speed available, standard 16"s with optional 17"s

IS330- 275 HP, optional AWD, 6 speed available, Standard 17"s with optional 18"s. Single turbo version of the 3.0 I6.

IS370- 335HP, standard AWD, this engine is only available in the Sedan, convertible and coupe, standard AWD, optional 6 speed, standard 18"s, twin turbo version of the 3.0

IS430- 375-410 HP, standard AWD, Only available in the Coupe and Sedan, standard manual- no auto offered, standard 18"s, 4.3 litre V-8.

This is what I have HEARD, so nothing in stone, but it's more logical IMO.

Thoughts?

I doubt that is it. I hope that it is not going to look like that.

Sorry to break it to those who think this is real, but that merely looks like a 2002 Camry. I think it may be a spy photo of before the Camry came out or a TRD modified ( bodykit, lowering, wheels) Camry.

i just spoke w/a friend of mine and he is a reliable source that confirmed what most of you have... that those pics aren't of any IS, he also said that in todays conference that he had, lexus confrimed NO MORE I6 for the IS and GS. he says lexus confirmed a 2door and convertible in the makes.
lastly, he claimed there wont be as many engines as mentioned above.
hope this helps.
don't flame me for anything, he works for Lexus!

I don't like the looks one bit. What would be nice if they had those HP's with the IS. That thing is soooo under rated. They need to fix that pos shifter for the manual. That is not a nice gearbox at all.
