IMO, the Civic Type R maybe able beat the S2K in stock form but once modded the S2K's advantages will show.

Just adding to the "bench racing".

I think it's easy to underestimate the difference a set of tires make. I always think that cars compared on track should be equipped with the same model tire.

And I still fail to understand why Honda never made an S2000 type R.

I think the type R is just a better car then a stock s2k in a road course like that plus Keiichi Tsuchiya is one hell of a driver.........i think the race would be more intresting if it was the type R against the CR

wow, whoever has the R-comp tire will always have the advantage, especially in 2 cars that are almost evenly matched.

the civic makes the same numbers to the wheels stock as the s2k does stock. throw in those crazy final gear ratio/lighter weight/ type-r handling abilities that they are known for/crazy tires/and tsuichiya(spelling), and I could defenitly see it beating a stock S.

RE070 isn't a R-comp tire. It is a street tire that comes stock on the CR S2K, STi, etc... Although the RE070 is a better performance tire over the RE050, I still think you would see similar results if both cars were paired with the same rubber.

I'm not surprised by the results at all. A bone stock S2K is nothing spectacular on the track.
