Would've left the RB26 even if it has .4 less liters.

And damn that engine bay looks like a hack job.

Considering the RB26 is just as capable of producing butt-loads of power as the 2JZ, that swap is just BLASPHEMY...

that's a waste.. i don't know why anyone that got their hands on an r34 gtr.... would take the rb out and put a 2j in it... unless of course.. it's an illegal gtr, and they want authorities to think it's a supra with ... a skyline shell?? haha i don't know, but even then, that's ... strange to me.

I think People just do it because they want to do the unexpected. It may be better for the car, it maybe not. IMO, The 2.6 RB26DETT is such a monster as is, but dropping a 3.0 TT 2JZ-GTE, seems like a better upgrade to me because of the high displacement.

Some other swaps done:

Signal Auto Z33 (350z) - Pulled the 3.5 VQ35 and dropped an SR20DET

ORC Z33 Drift Car (350z) - Pulled the 3.5 VQ35 and dropped an RB26DETT

Lotus Elise/Exige - Pulled the 2ZZ 1.8 light weight aluminum motor and dropped a K20, B18C

E36 M3 - Pulled that 3.0 S50 motor, dropped an F20C.

IMO, creativity is the key. Well, to a certain extent.

I can't figure this one out either, I admire the engineering but an RB26DETT is something to swap into your car, not out of it.

to me.. the only logical reasoning for him doing this.. is the rb26 blew up for some reason, and he didn't have the money to replace it with another rb26 and parts he may have had in the engine prior to detonation, so went with the 2jz instead?? i don't know haha

Silly question - it looks like the car is on a dyno? Or is it in the process of getting on the dyno? The reason I ask is aren't skylines awd? The rear wheels don't seem to be on the rollers...

Kind of like dropping a Viper engine in a Corvette Z06.

Can't wait to see the rest of these flames.
