Ah-ha! I knew it looked familiar. In the second pic, you can see a church steeple raising over the highway. Here's a Google aerial view of the spot it happened.

The dealership is at the bottom center of the picture, where Arapaho Rd and Central Expressway meet. The site of the accident is just NE of that, and you can see the church with white and tan roofs on NW corner of the intersection. The guy obviously didn't get very far - just a few hundred feet!

Hmm... I wonder if the insurance covers the "market adjustment premium" if the owner had paid it.

 

Hmm, considering that insurance usually pays how much it would cost to replace the car (for example, total a year-old S2000 and they'll probably pay out about $25k, rather than the $30k or so that's still owed on it) they they SHOULD pay for the market adjustment. Unfortunately, I don't think that's how it works in reality.
