Default Another Rim refinishing thread.SSR GT1s

Well I bought these off of another member on the board here.

They were factory silver from SSR

I am in the process of refinishing them.

I will not say what color they are going to be at this point, but I will show progress pics.

I have tried numerous things to get this powdercoat off and not a whole lot is working.

I have tried sandblasting, hand sanding, aircraft remover. However what I have found to work great is a red scuff pad on an angle grinder.

I also shaved the 5x100 off the front of the rim. The rim is a 5x114 so I dont know why the hell that is on there.

Rims ar 18x7.5 front and 18x9 rears.

Gotta love forged 18 inch wheels that weigh less than my RPF1s.

This is a picture of one of the rims as I bought them.

This is a picture of one after an hour with the scuff pad.

Honestly I hate them, only because this clear and powdercoat is so god damn hard to get off.

I love them because they are pretty rare, super light weight, and they were a great price.

The little bend was an easy fix also!
