what happens if you hit a curb or scrape? Does the whole front bumper rip off?

its mounted to frame of car so bumper is not the support these are the real deal

I take it the plastic oem "splitter" was just taken off? Did you have to reinforce the bottom of the bumper when you put it on or was the bumper actually supporting the plastic shield?
