It doesn't look as nice as the current model. I like the aggressive stance that this model has.

let me see if i got this right.......new M5's that look like accords and camrys: new accords that look like M5's and MB WTF?????

The front reminds me of the new accords....it doesn't have the menacing presence it currently has..oh well..maybe they will do a little cut here and tuck there...

 

I am getting tired of those front grills that are being so slightly changed every 4-5 years or so. A good designer needs to come up with a "real" change already instead of 20th century designs. The back does remind me of the acura legend. What is with those multiple curve headlight lenses anyway.....

 

This just looks like crap. BMW's are loosing their aggresive-looking fronts that make them look the part of what they are - the epitome of a sports sedan.

I'm glad my parents got to get their 540 (1998) and X5 (2001) when the cars still looked great. As for me, who thought that one day I would own a 3 series sedan or coupe, I might be looking for something else. I love the way BMWs drive, but I sure as hell I'm not going to drive it if it looks like a watered-down excuse for what used to be BMW.

My father was telling me the other day that he was thinking about trading the 540 for a new 5 series (he knows the new model is coming up soon) or an MB E-Class. Based on looks alone, I would take the Mercedes any day. If looks have anything to do with sales, Mercedes is going to sell a hell of a lot of E's and BMW is going to have a hard time selling 5's.

Hey, loki, where did you see pictures of the x3 and all those other upcoming models. I'd like to see if it's time to throw in the towel on bmw, aesthetically speaking.

 

It's got a nice stance to it with the solid flares and all but I will have to see it in person before I pass final judgment, but based on the current flame design that they are using it does follow the rules, but I am maybe one of 5 poeple in the world not counting Bengle who really likes the 7 series.

I am just waiting for the decision to come down from BMW to move them out at a factory discount lease rate and I might jump on a 7 over the M3.

My friend took pics of the new 6 coupe, 6 convertible and X3. I think he sold them to some magazines so you should see them soon. If you can't wait, take my word for it, BMW design is going downhill.

StormBringer, you can get the 7 now highly discounted... they are sitting on lots and there are some great lease rates on them now. I don't have the article handy but there was one SoCA dealership with 30+ of them on the lot.
