I do have to agree with most people when they say that the miata does forgive. The S2000 doesnt. I have a lot of friends who own miatas and if you know cars, they are not by any means a "gaymobile". Yes, its small, so what..the lotus elise is just as small and to make a point, because it IS small, its LIGHT. thats the key element. power to weight ratio. the miata is 2200 lbs! our s2ks would be considered "a little more to love" in their eyes. not to mention spec miatas. man would those rip you a new one on the track. Ive driven everything from sedans, suvs, trucks, and even those white work vans. I love roadsters though. My previous car was an SLK230 and that thing compared to those two is a plumper! But if it werent for the miata, we wouldnt have our beloved s2000. it was the car that brought roadsters into existence in the US after the whole gas crisis. where you could drive a fast car that didnt guzzle gas. almost all roadsters today are built with the same concept for a roadster from back then in 1989 , also the jaguar XKE i believe. with the whole tail end going out thing though, i have to state again that the miata forgives the driver. it is a wicked fun car to drive and you can throw it around and not be scared of going into a tree. you can really feel the limits out and if you happen to push too far you can correct it and gain control again. whereas the s2000 youd be in oversteer and spinning before you know it. Unless you are skilled enough to detect and correct it appropriately, be cautious when trying its limits. as for the guy who called it a "gaymobile" please be a bit more courteous of other cars and if thats your opinion, thats fine, but if you are going to state something like that, give your reasoning. On a fun note, now the Mercedes SL55 AMG, would you call that a gaymobile? most would say hell no...well funny enough it was voted the #1 car that most (excuse my language) gay people drive. isnt that a interesting fact. and its not small.

I hope I did not offend anyone and that everyone here on this forum will look at miatas in a different light if you do not already. My friend brought this to my attention and i thought i would add my two cents. They are actually really respectable cars despite its stigma, and like i said...fun as hell to drive.
