i can't wait to see the turbo completely installed and finished! sounds like it's going to be craaaaaazy. oh and yeah...same question as HeNeSSey...does the top close with that bar?
That's the Bitterman rollbar, but with the harness bar added, I believe (if that's Larry Saccone's car who bought the bar a few weeks ago). So yes, it fits under the soft top.
Just so everyone knows, we have designed a more elegant solution to providing harness mounting, where the storage box does not need to be cut. It is also much lighter, cheaper to build, and easier to install.
Basically the bar stands as shown on previous posts as spider pointed out above https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthre...&threadid=53959 and in pics below, but with a separate mounting plate which bolts on to the stock rollbar mounts and the Bitterman rollbar mounting plates. The steel plate has bosses welded on and eye-hooks (an SCCA approved harness mounting method).
There's also a forward kicking diagonal on the way. The bar, powder coated to any color, including mounting plates and bolts is $575. The harness mounting plate and forward kicker will be very cheap, but not exactly sure yet.
Yes indeed! It is a slightly modified Bitterman special. Thanks a LOT to Aaron! Although there is a cut in the storage compartment it actually doesn't intrude on the storage space. It's tight but workable. We deal with one of the East Coast's premier fabricators (Mitch Piper) and the Bitterman Rollbar is TOP QUALITY the whole way. 1 3/4" bar and purrrrrrfect welds. As for the color, I was pressed for time to get it in for an event so I left it that color. I will have it colored black in a couple of weeks when I can afford to be without it again. All in all I think everything ic coming along very nicely. I got a kick ass crew at Evolution and top notch parts. Recipe for 500hp at the wheels indeed!
