I would do it on my Berlina with black rims only if it wasn't illegal.

I'm pretty sure you would get pulled over right away if the police saw you? Or is it legal if the red shines through?

i wouldn't want to do that
even if the light effects are still the same.
it might be same in daytime,
but it will surely affect the brightness of the lights
at night.
as i've already experienced following behind the car
who tinted his/her taillights, and i almost rear-ended that car
because i couldn't see the damn thing if it was on or not!
anyway.. it's up to the owner's choice...
