Default Blacked out my H badge

Hello All,

So I'm not to fond about shiny stuff, so decided to black out my Emblems to match w/ the CR side black S2000 badges. From start to finish... enjoy the small transformation

Standard look

Close up shot of the Honda emblem

Time to prep the emblem w/ primer so that the paint can stick

Prepped for some color...

Fast forward... here is the emblem 3 coats of Matte Black and 1 coat of Matte Clear coat hours later

applied some 3M double sided tape behind the emblem for exactly like stock reinforcement and installed back on

another close up shot of the refinished matte black emblem

and the front shots

11/5/11 update** Finally found time to take shots of the rears after completion. here you go....

Easy to do, all done in the home garage, for those interested matte black emblem DIY to your S... doesn't have to be exactly the same, but these are the spray cans purchased from Home Depot to help out: Rust-Oleum PRIMER | Rust-Oleum Matte Clear | Rust-Oleum Flat Black

Also remember, don't rush it! allow proper drying in between each coat of spraying...

cheers! -Ken

Nice!!!

I'm in the process of doing the same thing but on my Berlina. I ordered the CR side emblems and painting a set of spare f/r emblems. If I don't like it, I have the Black Chrome set to put back on.

Sweeet, will look nice and stealthy on a berlina. How does the black chrome set look in person? the emblems are smaller yeah? i always thought about going that route but then decided to do a DIY.

*shrugs* don't know about the quality and look of plastidip. In person... this method looks like it was purchased like this, as well as permanent.

I wonder how well the paint will hold. Looks sexy enough that I want to do it though, just dont want any flaking!
