wow, mugen rr civic
"Designed to be perhaps the ultimate front-engined/front-wheel-drive performance car, the Mugen RR sheds an additional 10kg (22 lbs) off the standard Civic Type R's weight, coming in at 2733 lbs. In addition to the weight loss, the freer-breathing Mugen RR picks up 15 horsepower over the regular Type R. It's rated at 240 horses at 8,000 rpm and 160 lb-ft at 7,000 rpm. "
i know it's a type-s in the video, but our best (and "better" than the type-s), the CR:
"Take into account the heavier-than-stock components the CR adds, such as the rear wing, body strengthening and wider rear tires and Honda says the CR weighs 2,765 pounds

^ ew. ap2 numbers.
MY01 weighs 2650
but.........
this is a re-post.
still, s2000 potential > Civic potential by FAR.
what if Honda made a Mugen S2000?
i'm sure it`d own in stock form also.
imho the CR or type S is not much of an upgrade compared to the base ap1/2.

Top down is a huge disadvantage for the S2k's in this race, so the Civic Type R's have an aerodynamic advantage. Also, the Mugen RR/Civic Type R has a fantastically stiff chassis, an aggressive suspension setup, and brembo 4 pot brakes, don't know about the gearing, but the Civic R's are supposedly very close ratio. I also think they have an advantage because they can get on the throttle earlier exiting a corner, extending the amount of time at full throttle
and jhooby has a point, a mugen s2000 rr would seriosuly kick the nuts off the civics, but i was wondering why with the current/given power to weight numbers, the civics seemed to whoop on the s2000s in the exits.
