If you guys are going to moderate the forum, then do so but don't attempt to
lecture me on issues to which you obviously know little about. If you want
the pics removed, then exercise your responsibilities. If you want to edit the site
based on s2ki.com rules, then it would certainly appear to me that you're both
in error here.
I quote from the rules and regulations page of this very site:
" You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, you will not post any copyrighted material
unless the copyright is owned by you or is in the public domain and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless
Petersen Ventures LLC and its representatives or agent(s) for any harm your posts might cause."
Public domain fellas. This explains why I can visit just about any forum on
this site and pull photos out of threads that are copyrighted. HOWEVER, for
entertainment and information use, they are in the public domain. You don't see
the title of this thread, "look at my custom designed canards." The thread is not for
profit, rather (as written earlier) it was created to discuss the product.
Be that as it may, close the thread since it you'll be waiting for eternity for
me to delete the pictures. If site regulations were not in support of my position, I
would do so out of respect for the owner but as printed in boldface above, the site
clearly supports my right (in this case) to post them as they obviously have been
culled from a very public web site and used for entertainment/information purposes only. You will find, if you dig deeper into copyright law, that it deals with the protection of profit for the originators. If I copy and paste pics from a web site
and use those pics for PROFIT, I am in clear violation of copyright law. If I pull
a pic from Volk's website showing their latest wheels (done many times here I might add), that is NOT copyright infringement.
If you choose to pull the pics above (for whatever reason because I certainly can't
find one in the rules/regulations to support it) then you should also go back into
the archives and pull ALL OF THEM, from every web site, car mag and catalog that wheel and automobile pics have been pulled from.
