Just someone popular down in history pointed out that Rota wheels were bad because of them cracking so now its bad to get Rotas. Well some professional teams still use them, mmm I wonder why? Yeah c'mon throw and excuse, the point is because they are cheap they are bad? Well look at your Honda, its cheap, is it bad?

Note to moderator: Please split out the off-topic posts.

Note to haters: Keep your fuk-king comments to yourself. Did no one's mama teach you guys that "...if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it"?

Note specifically to "A4Sport": just like where you're from, this topic should have stayed in your town called 'Nunya'...it's nunya g'ddam business.

I'm one of the biggest S2K Mugen whores out there and probably won't see a day that my car is wearing Rotas, but what bearing does that have on those that would?

This thread was about folks who wanted to see pics of S2K's with Rotas on them, and not the opinions of why your car shouldn't be using them. If you care so deeply about that topic....then start up a thread regarding it in S2000 Talk.

All wheels crack under strain at some point. Every race wheel has cracked from every brand. The main negative to Rota wheels is that they are cast. This makes them heavier and slightly less strong than a forged wheel. There are many popular wheels like the Weds and the ASAs that are cast as well.

It's like buying a fake watch. It tells time, 9 out of 10 people won't tell the difference or care. If you are fine with that then go crazy.

It may not be JDM but it does the job plus its affordable. I can barely afford the tires thats on my car let alone the Work wheels that it goes on. I wouldnt mind using Rota's because Im building the car for me, not for everyone else!

Heres some pics. I ain't scared.

Heres my view on Rotas.

Yes they are cast, however they are not fragile. I've had them on for 2yrs now daily driven on horible roads, 1WTD and 1DBR and some auto xing later and they still look great. No cracks or dings. My rims haven't tacoed from hitting a pot hole.

Are they heavy? Well I guess thats up to what you consider heavy 17-18 lbs for a 17" wheel to me isn't that bad, especially when it cost $150 bucks.

Yes I could have afforded more expensive wheels. But I refuse to pay $3000 for wheels that look virtually the same and perform virtually the same. A couple of lbs a wheel isn't worth a $2400 difference.

And for my rant, I'm really sick of people bashing others about what route they take with their cars. Its up to them. Espcially from forum guests who have been on the boards for like a day!! Next time keep it to yourself.

Such BS. I can afford my S fairly comfortably. However, unless I feel like saving money for well over a year (and not buying anything for the car), there's no way I'd be able to afford a set of $2000+ wheels and good tires.

Rota wouldnt be in business if their wheels broke as much as so many people try to make it seem.

Yeah man well said Luder94, ImportSport, & Sinji!!! Were here to just here to support the brothers man....some brothers have nicer bling etc....

If it was a PROVEN fact that ROTA's crumple like crackers, then please show some facts else....YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!

All wheels have certain requirements and I maybe BBS and VOLKS and MUGEN do crack too under certain extreme conditions but I am sure there lighter and still stronger then ROTA but doesn't mean ROTA won't do the job....

Man why we always gotta go through this.....guess there are just some serious haters out there....
