Calling out Rota riders!
I don't hate Rotas because they are cheap. I dislike Rotas because I dont think they have one of their own original designs. Rotas hurt the wheel manufacturers that have style and design their own wheels. If Rota made the same wheels that they do in their own styles, I wouldnt mind them.

They're a copy of Work Emotions. Of course theyre going to look great. I don't mind bashing in this thread since the thread's already ruined. Lets say that they had made that design and hadnt just copied Work. I would give Rotas props.

I dont care what anyone says, ive had numerous sets, had them on my S, and would still buy them. They are replica's, big deal. For the money you cant go wrong. I have spent the money on Volks before as well. I appreciate them too, but now that im married my wife will not let me spend that kind of money on rims anymore so some people may not have a choice on what kind of rims they can buy even if they can afford them no matter what they drive.
I am not a fan of replicas in general, which is why I dont like Rotas. If Rota gets enough business that it affected the wheel market in Japan enough to crash, Rota would be out of business since they would have nobody to copy. Just seems stupid to me. Support a company that steals business from companies, but if the companies that they steal from go under, they will go under?!
Rota's have all the safety ratings that it takes to make it a quality wheel for the roads. There are tons of auto-x'ers and draggers that use them because they are more concerned about the tires than the actual rims. As far as being original in design, no they're not obviously, but look at all the other companies and then say that they don't look alike. It's just catering to the customers and what's "in style". There were also threads on here about 3 or more years ago about HRE's, Kenisis, and another few high end wheels that cracked and comepletely split from the hub. It happens, but the thing is that wheels are wheels and they get scuffed and everything the same way. If nobody said they were Rota's and just put of pics, there would be props and not really anything negative.
I build cars, and distribute parts for everything from show to go and I have nothing, but good things to say about Rota's and eventhough I can get a brand name wheel such as Work or Volk for very, very good prices, I wouldn't mind if I rocked a set of Rota's on my S.
Cars look good guys.

^ Like I said, I don't think that Rotas are necessarily bad quality wheels. I am sure that they are good enough for 95% of people on the road. My only beef with them is that they steel business from companies that spend the time and money to start trends and make their own designs.
I think the Kinesis wheel cracking thing happened about a year ago. If I remember correctly, it started with the Viper club or something along those lines. Kinesis is now owned by Lexani, so who knows how quality will be.
