Calling out Rota riders!

I read through these 3 pages and was really hoping to see some pics of S2ks with rotas, 3 pages and like 3-4 on rotas. oh well, I guess this thread is ruined.
I don't mind rota copying wheel designs as much as others do, I mean I'm obviously not a lawyer for Mugen, Volk, Work,etc.
Why don't some of those original companies do something about it? I guess you can't patent a wheel design?

Personally I would love to spend a couple grand for some Rays so I could have super light weight and JDM wheels for my car.
The truth is that I can't really afford them... so I personally do buy replicas.
I agree that its lame that companies totally bite off popular company's designs, but I guess I can rationalize being morally unethical if it gives my car the look that I want!

Funny thing about these threads, usually a few new Rota owners pop out of the shadows. Where were they before? They didn't post any "check out my new wheels" threads. Maybe the hating on this forum keeps them from sharing when they get 'em, then we don't get to see it, which is when the forum fails. The idea here is to share info about our cars, not to bully and hate fellow owners into silence.
We're not all going to agree on what looks good, but that doesn't deprive someone of their right to show it, and help someone who needs to see it.

i got news for you guys: everything is copiedd by somebody. wheel designers copy others, clothing designers copy other clothing designers, hell even pharmaceutical companies copy each other. its gonna happen. that actually keeps the value of a Work wheel up.
oh, and why dont you get on people who buy ssr professor sp1 wheels. they look an awful lot alike the work meisters s1.
