can someone explain this to me?
okay so i see some craazy s2k's in here but what i dont get is this, i see full raced out s2's with roll cages and all kinds of suspension upgrades but they have a sub and some amps in the trunk. WHY? Wouldnt that defeat the purpose of all those suspension upgrades if you track your car? I mean it's great to have good sounds but in an s2k to be bumpin hard music driving down the street is just a crazy idea to me. Maybe put some amps and a sub in a nice sedan or an SUV but a sports car? Am i the only one that thinks that this is weird or out of the ordinary? Sorry if i offended anyone.
In my last S2000 I had a sub and amp in the back that were on quick disconnect plugs that could be pulled out of the car in about 30 seconds. That way, on track days the only extra weight I had was the wires from the radio to the place where the amp would be.
However, I'd venture to guess that 99% of the time people build their cars to be street cars that make them feel good to drive. This means the look of a lowered car and race parts, but also the day to day luxuries like a good stereo. It's a showoffy thing.

The S2 is a loud car inside, while the engine note is beautiful the road and wind noise isnt...a good system will cover that up and surround you with something you wanna hear.
The true track warriors make their systems so they can pop them out with a few bolts and screws. Back when I use to have systems in my cars that was common practice. System comes out, pass seat out, back seat out...so i lose 50-75lbs...every little bit counts.
I dont think you will find many HARDCORE drivers that have a raced out street machine with no sounds in it and driving it everyday...its dumb...You can love motorsport, but some people get religious extremist about it...Just drive...
