Hmm, This could net some awesome results.
im thinking this will make the IATs go up since the surface area of the lid is now less?

looks good. i think it would look a little better if it were a little less glossy, so it would match a little better.

as for performance, i think that the thicker and more insulated the air box, the cooler the inside would be. it would be interesting to see temps from before and after on a hot day, with a fully covered box.

Thanks guys. Later on im going to try and do the other part of the airbox that has that ribbed look right by the intake arm. Ill most likely soon be getting an AUT cooling plate and a black Samco intake arm. That way its all smooth looking and goes well together. I have no idea if the IAT's will be better or not. It is slightly thicker on the lid now, so you would think it would help lower the temps a tiny bit. I already have a gutted and insulated airbox.

You could wrap it in carbon fibre sticker for added bling.

Thanks. I was thinking about getting some of that 3M carbon fiber vinyl, but I dont know if that will stand up to the heat. It might start peeling after a little bit or bubble up. I might do it in real carbon fiber, but that will be a while until I mess with it again. It was a big enough pain getting it to how it is!

How did you do it? what material did you use? Yeah the carbon fibre thing will be a real pain in the ass, but youre already a step closer to it honestly. goodluck

So shiny. Good work.
On a side note, it kind of looks like you have a ps3 for an airbox now.

Thanks man. I used an automotive bondo, and sanded the crap out of it. Took me like 4 hours of sanding by hand to get it that smooth. Yeah after all the time I spent on this thing I almost dont want to touch it, haha!
