I got a question, it seems like a big sheet of metal/cardboard is NOT going to affect the aerodynamics of the car too much as a WHOLE. But, in relation to itself, how sturdy do you think something like that is going to be?
IE: if you were driving 70 mph, and then you hit a gusty area, is it gonna get ripped off?

most side diffusers are drilled in, many companies make em adn they dont fly off. i could only imagine that front splitter if the metal wasn't strong it would bend, def not rip off, i beleive he was only usign cardboard as a prototype. legite companies like downforce have made side diffusers that are aerodynamic, regardless they wont make a noticebalb difference but i beleive people (aka me) have them for looks more.
I did this last summer after seeing another member post about it. Just the front splitter and I made the mounting holes into slots. That way, I can adjust how far it sticks out. I use mine more as a lip protector than anything else. The ABS plastic sheet cost $15 and it has paid for itself. A couple times.

the APR splitter is a big sheet of carbon fiber... it effects the aerodynamics and feel of the car. ALOT. it needs to be very sturdy, if its just a lip protector, ie. coastal metals type, then a few bolts should be fine imo.
Googled 'cleveland oh abs plastic', this was the first one that popped up. Called them, they had 1/4" black in stock, cut me a 3'x7' sheet, picked it up an hour later.
This was my template:
Another shot:
I used all of the original mounting points for the OEM lip, just used longer bolts. Also put on pretty large washers, 2" I think, just to spread the load a bit. Again, I think of it more of a lip protector than an aero aid.
