the APR splitter is a big sheet of carbon fiber... it effects the aerodynamics and feel of the car. ALOT. it needs to be very sturdy, if its just a lip protector, ie. coastal metals type, then a few bolts should be fine imo.
Right, because you know when you're driving with your hand out the window, and you tilt it up a little bit, you can REALLY feel it, and that's just a hand.
If, for the front, you had a big sheet of metal mounted even slightly at the wrong angle, you could potentially be putting a lot of stress on the mounting points and the sheet itself. Not to mention create lift instead of downforce.
And with that thought, is there a negative correlation between the downward forces created by the splitter and some kind of aerodynamic drag as a side effect of the downforce?

i plan on making the front not as long and the sides will stay the same also i have decided not to use the adjustable rods as the splitter will not be stick out as far and i probly wont need them. i will be picking up the material on thursday to make it, ill give some updates as i start to make it
Googled 'cleveland oh abs plastic', this was the first one that popped up. Called them, they had 1/4" black in stock, cut me a 3'x7' sheet, picked it up an hour later.
This was my template:
Another shot:
I used all of the original mounting points for the OEM lip, just used longer bolts. Also put on pretty large washers, 2" I think, just to spread the load a bit. Again, I think of it more of a lip protector than an aero aid.
Quick question. What did you use to seal your lip to the bumper? That black sealant? Let me know. Thanks.
