hey any progress with the setup? any side pictures? or finshed pictures? im very interested in doing this.
Crap I forgot about this. I never got any more pictures but its done as far as I am concerned. I didnt do anything fancy with molds and such. I used the OEM piece and the DD fits. No side pictures but can tell you its flush unless I am driving with the tv on then its slanted to where I want it.

of coarse, i wish i can cut the thread a bit to have the shifter sit lower but the shaft of the shifter gets wider at the bottom so you cant.

Sin3: you can cut the thread off your shifter. You just have to countersink the bore in your knob to fit the wide part of the shifter. I posted a thread a while ago on how to do it. Search "short shifter"

I applaud your creativity to install the deck but I was hoping to see some more refined pics of the final install man.

That doesn't bother you that there's a huge gap on either side - looks like you just took the stock radio door and hacked it off and stuck a radio there....?

Don't mean to be too harsh but that's just my 2 cents - since you spent all this effort to install a deck why not finish it?

Its actually not that bad. Its good enough for me. Thats all that counts. The gap is not that bad. Those are really close ups.
