Ferrari crash
Update on drivers health as promised yesterday:
he had third successful surgery, his condition remains stable but bad. He is kept in pharmacological coma as there is a lot of damage to his head, torso, legs, hands and spine. He also has some serious inner damage. We will find out tommorow what will be the plan of the doctors. Both - driver and passenger fell of the car - that is what saved one's life. It also means they ware most probably not wearing their seat-belts.
Fingers crossed.

Santana's in concert?
It's a shame that people got hurt.
I hope your friend does okay.
But I call this an "accident" as much as shooting yourself in the head playing Russian Roulette is an "accident." Sure, you didn't mean for it to happen, but c'mon, tempting fate is an accident waiting to happen.

mudring - did the driver of the car that hit you die? Was he charged with anything? Did you take him for all his earthly possessions for being an idiot?

whoa!! this is INSANE...
to the comment about it not being THAT fast, i KIND OF understand what he means. Ive seen acciednts of people going 240+ and ive NEVER seen a car suffer so much destruction. 200kph is fast, but i wouldnt expect such damage! No offence, but the fact that their is a possiblity they were NOT wearing seat belts is ABSURD, how can you NOT wear your seatbelt in a car of that caliber especially. Sad to hear, but i guess its a part of life...people who do stupid things like this need to suffer the consequences....
in regards to murdings, im REALLY sorry to hear what happened to you...thats honestly very sad. I hope you, and your wife the best journey to recovery, and i hope karma rolls around for that guy...

Car still burning, and as you can see, completely ****ed.
It was bought (or at least in temporary possession of) by one of the most known Polish car journalists, Maciej Zientarski. The passenger (although it is still not 100% confirmed who was the driver) was Jaroslaw Zabiega, another journalist from a Polish tabloid. Both men were found outside the vehicle, which had immediately burst into flames upon impact. While Zientarski was pulled away, Zabiega didn't have the same luck. He lay by the car, with clothes burning - one person tried to pull him away, but burned themself from Zabiega's clothes/skin. Someone else tried to extinguish him with an extinguisher but soon the burning car gave off so much heat that it was impossible to approach Zabiega and save him. Zientarski was soon rushed off to the hospital in critical state with injuries and to the whole body (head, broken spine, internal organs, limbs...). He's currently in stable, but still critical state in a sustained coma.
The place where the accident happened is quite well known in Warsaw. There is a bump in the road, where (according to people who know the place) the asphalt has slumped around a small concrete tunnel/pass that runs underneath. Last year there were 2 deaths there... how that happened is quite grotesque. One person killed himself in the exact same manner - BMW M3 bounced off on the bump and flew straight into the concrete pillar. The other person that died was his friend who went there to light some candles in rememberance and was killed by ANOTHER car that went out of control and left the road!
On Polish forums Zientarski is getting a lot of heat for what he did. It is almost indisputible that he must have known about the place, even more so because his father (another known auto journalist) lives in the area. What he did was plain stupid. Witnesses claim he left the lights at WOT (see map below), the result - him in hospital, his friend dead. Zero common sense from someone that was experienced with cars.
